Judge Thomas G. Morgan Family, prominent BR Family of 1800's

Judge Thomas Gibbes Morgan Family
The Morgan family was a prominent Baton Rouge family
in the 19th century, they lived on Church St., now called 4th St.

Sarah Morgan, daughter of Judge Morgan wrote,
a now famous, Diary called, "A Confederate Girls' Diary",
She wrote about the Union troops garrisoned in Baton Rouge.

Plaque reads:
MORGAN HOUSE SITE
On this site stood the home where Sarah Morgan Dawson (1842-1909) wrote A Confederate Girl's Diary, which has become a Civil War classic. The diary depicts the occupation of Baton Rouge by Union forces.
